Services provided at Pure Sports Physical Therapy include:

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a clinical approach utilizing skilled, specific hands-on techniques. It is designed to give a therapeutic effect to facilitate appropriate motor control and movement patterns within the joints and soft tissue. This in turn will eliminate the inflammatory-pain response and restore normal body function. Manual therapy is an integral part of every session at Pure Sports Physical Therapy.

Trigger Point Dry Needling

This is a treatment for muscular tightness and spasm, known as a trigger point, which is often associated with an injury. An acupuncture needle is placed into the muscle at the trigger point, causing relaxation of the muscle. This will then create a proper muscular contraction, increase muscle flexibility, increase range of motion, and decrease pain and symptoms. Dry Needling is very useful for a variety of musculoskeletal injuries such as soft tissue and joint pain, which is why this method is often used to treat sports injuries, muscle pain, and even chronic pain like arthritis and fibromyalgia pain.

Therapeutic Exercise

The physical therapist will instruct and demonstrate clinical based exercises that help increase strength, joint mobility, ROM (range of motion), and flexibility of the injured and surrounding regions. All of which will lead to returned function and performance.

Home Exercise Program

A unique and tailored exercise program for each patient’s specific injury. It is essential to be compliant with the home program as it optimizes quick recovery and reinforces the manual therapy that is performed during treatment sessions.

Patient Education

Explaining the nature of the injury is crucial so that patients can gain knowledge of their injury and rehabilitation process. Pure Sports believes that patient education is an integral part of physical therapy and will be implemented during the initial evaluation and throughout each treatment session so the patient can avoid further injury and prevent future ones as well.

Modalities provided at Pure Sports Physical Therapy include:

Laser

This laser is non-invasive and it lessens pain by using a laser diode and light emitting diodes (LEDs) that generate infrared energy to deliver a therapeutic effect.  The TQ Solo laser is FDA cleared for relief of muscle pain, joint pain, muscle spasm, relieving stiffness and promoting relaxation of muscle tissue, and increasing blood flow.

ULTRASOUND

This therapeutic modality uses ultrasonic sound waves that are absorbed by soft tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and scar tissue) using a transducer and gel. It is used for treating tendonitis, bursitis, muscle strains, ligament sprains, muscles spasms, bursitis, arthritis, etc. Benefits of ultrasound include increasing blood flow, pain control from reduction in swelling, and increased soft tissue mobility.

Electrical Stimulation

This modality helps to decrease pain and/or strengthen muscles using an electrical impulse that is delivered to the muscles via electrode placement.
